"Edward A. L. Dunlop" is a British thoroughbred horse trainer/racehorse trainer.

Ed Dunlop was born to British champion trainer John L. Dunlop/John Dunlop and his wife. Educated at Eton College/Eton, he began his career on stud farms in Ireland and Kentucky before completing the National Stud student course in Sydney, Australia. Upon returning to Britain he spent three years as assistant to Nicky Henderson, then joined Alex Scott (racehorse trainer)/Alex Scott at his Newmarket Stables. When Scott was murdered in 1994 Dunlop took over and renamed the business Gainsborough Stables. The new stable had its first winner on 19 October 1994 and since then has sent entrants to races as far-flung as Istanbul, Dubai, Milan, Ireland and the United States. In 2003 alone the stable had 50 winners, and such prestigious owners as Edward Stanley, 19th Earl of Derby, have placed horses to train with Dunlop. Notable horses include Ouija Board (horse)/Ouija Board (won 47%, £2 million).

Dunlop married in 1996 and has three daughters.

The various injuries have been well-documented but she's over those now. If we can run well, and hopefully win on Saturday, that would be fantastic.

The question still stands whether she would train on from four to five, but all I can tell you is that she is still enjoying it.

Her racing weight is identical to her last two races. She appears in every way to have trained on from 4 to 5. She hasn't had any hiccups. The signs are right, but it is a very good race.

Heart's Cry has beaten us and he may beat us again.

She's run very well and, in a sense, we are delighted because there were little question marks after Dubai. I liked the way she accelerated. The story rolls on.
