I felt we needed something to help the audience keep up with the changing time periods. I had a collection of slides from Life magazine and picked a few out. I think it brings a reality to the play, showing what the world was like outside.

Carol just has those instincts that let you find a character. The first time I worked with her was in A Trip to Bountiful. She played Jessie Mae, and she was perfect. She knows what is required in a role, and she doesn't overdo it.

We'd love to stay in downtown Bryan and be a part of its rebirth. I think we'd be a valuable resource and reason for people to come to downtown Bryan.

Harold just keeps getting better. I can't imagine doing this play with anyone else. He had it nailed from the word go, but over the years, you learn things and experience things that enhance the performance.
