I have great faith.

We were able to run the football a little bit, ... so there are some positive things.

There were three or four times where they got pressure on us, and our quarterback was looking at the pressure instead of downfield.

We couldn't even complete an out today, ... Things I know we can do, we didn't do.

[Defensively, the Wasps played shorthanded, missing both starting defensive tackles and playing several first-year players in the secondary, a fact that didn't bode well against W&J's shotgun formation and spread offense.] We played extremely tough at first, before they figured out what we were doing, ... We had to play a totally different style of defense with only three tackles.

Marshall has transformed himself. He put on 20 pounds in the offseason and became a lot stronger. And our coaches are putting him in the position to be successful.

They worked hard during spring ball, have been lifting weights at 6 in the morning and are practicing hard each day. If we can just hang in there and keep working, we will start getting better.

Theres no secret to success at Mount Union. You recruit them, you prepare them and then you go out and play. There has to be some continuity. ...I saw the rise and I saw the stability [at Mount Union]. Its going to take a while before I get [Emory & Henry] where it needs to be.

Theroretically, I think W&J is better than it was last year. I know all about their receivers and other skill players. It's a great challenge for us.
