The main thing is to upgrade the Legion. Business has changed dramatically in the last 50 years and in order to survive the Legion has to change.
"Donald William "Don" Macdonald" was an Australian rugby league referee and administrator.
Macdonald began his refereeing career in the Newtown Jets#Newtown District Junior Rugby League/Newtown District Junior Rugby League. He was subsequently graded to referee in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL), gaining his first first-grade match in 1967. He went on to control over 150 top grade matches in a career that lasted until 1979.
Macdonald was a no-nonsense referee who was not averse to sending off players for violent play or dissent, including Craig Young, Johnny Greaves and Ron Raper, Steve Kneen, Kevin Ryan (rugby)/Kevin Ryan, Paul Sait, Graham Olling and Bill Ashurst.
Macdonald was also involved in some volatile situations after matches, being pelted with fruit and cans by irate spectators, and doused with beer.
After he retired from refereeing, Macdonald was elected as President of the NSWRL Referees Association from 1980 to 1984. He also served on the Referees Examination Board for a number of years.
Macdonald was awarded Life Membership of the NSWRL Referees Association in 1976.More Don Macdonald on Wikipedia.

This building would provide much needed accommodation for seniors and a market for the Legion. Through monthly fees it would make a few bucks to help us survive. It is the best of all worlds for the Legion.
We know that the world basically has been transformed ... The question is no longer, 'What do we make?' We must ask, 'What do we make possible?'
The time to do something is now because we have no debt, we own the building and the land. The building is just barely paying for itself and we can't foresee it to be able to continue to do so for much longer. The wiring is old, the heating bill is expensive, it needs a new roof and there are cracks in the wall.
