Dave hasn't been taken down all season. That's quite an accomplishment.

I told coach Mayer before wrestling started that this could be the day that he finally gets taken down, but it didn't happen.

I wasn't really sure what to expect coming into the season. I knew David had talent, but I certainly didn't expect him to be undefeated this late in the season.

Dave is very good defensively on his feet.

He's not real flashy, but very methodical. He doesn't get out of position. It's the same style you see with most collegiate wrestlers.

To win a Brooke title is quite a task, and he did it with relative ease. Dave has faced a lot of kids from West Virginia and Ohio. We also wrestled at the Wheeling Park Duals [which took place Dec. 28-29] and Dave won all nine bouts.

He (King) was throwing up a lot Friday night, so I made the decision to sit him out for a match on Saturday so he could save his strength.

We have gotten a lot better as the season wears on. We probably won't win the WPIAL, but we could probably make some noise in the playoffs if we continue to improve.

Pete has come on very strong lately. He's finally figured out how to wrestle instead of just brawling.
