We had opportunities, we had many of them, and River Ridge played outstanding defense. (And) I'm damned proud of our defense, they did an outstanding job.

That spot was absolutely atrocious.

We were able to run tonight, ... We controlled the line of scrimage, our O-line was outstanding and the runners did a great job.

Lufkin is a tough place to play, much less sweep. I'm very proud of the effort we put out on the field today.

When we got to the stadium, there were 5,000 people and it was a playoff-like atmosphere.

Adam pitched well and gave us another quality start. It's nice to know we've got guys like him who are able to go deep into games. We did the little things again today, such as hitting the ball on two-strike counts, throwing strikes and playing defense.

Our offense was just stymied against a great East Wake defense. They're probably the best we faced [this season].

They did a great job, and they have allowed only four runs in the last two weeks.

Anytime you can take two on the road, it helps. It's big for us, and we need to string them (wins) together.

Just a broken play where the quarterback scrambled around and found someone open. Other than that, hats goes off to our defense.

There was not a lot of fire in our team, and the results were indicative of that. I know we had a lot of guys out there who hadn't played in a while, so you can't expect immediate success. I'm not blaming them necessarily, but as a group, we didn't get at it today.

It's not a mystery, and there's no special formula to what we're doing. It's what every team strives to do, but our guys happen to be executing it well right now.

These were two pretty big wins, because we go on the road for six and needed to do so with some confidence. I thought the guys responded well today, and we did a good job on the mound. It was one of those days where the hitters have the upper hand due to the way the wind was blowing, but we're all excited about the prospects of where we stand now.

Poor effort. Our second-half defense wasn't perfect, but boy, they showed a lot of effort. We found our fighters (in the second half), those who will fight for us on the field.

If I hear any of you were out there throwing eggs, you're not playing on Saturday. I'll tell you what, for the rest of the week, I don't want any of you going across Myrtle Street.

This is not meant to detract from their performance.

I was glad we were able to get Tyler his first conference action. I know it wasn't under a lot of pressure, but he came in and did what he was supposed to do. We had Cory (Farrell) ready to go in the bullpen.
