"Derek Stingley" is the defensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Soul of Arena Football League. Prior to his coaching career, he also had an eight-year playing career as a defensive specialist for the Indiana Firebirds/Albany Firebirds. He also played college baseball at Triton College and was selected in the 1993 Major League Baseball Draft as a center fielder by the Philadelphia Phillies, where he spent three seasons (1993–1995).

The hardest part about the loss is that we lost at home, and you always want to start off on a good note. It was a humbling experience to lose the way we lost, but I told the team that we are going to watch film and just learn from our mistakes. Then we are going to move on.
