If a deputy was to go before a judge and say this person did this to me, a judge would sign a warrant. But because it's Paul Howard, the district attorney, nobody wants to touch it.

I was a deputy sheriff and a police officer for 13 years. The security in the courthouse, the way they deal with prisoners, is absolutely atrocious ... I've spoken to judges, DA, deputies up there, and said this is what's going on.

The got a little rowdy at the offices. The cops surrounded the offices... they totally overreacted.

That's what we wanted from the very beginning.

There's a great lack of education with these deputies and it's not their fault. It doesn't seem like [county officials] have learned a lot by what has happened.

He basically got in front of her and she popped him upside the face. It's a mother taking care of her child. If you're a decent parent at all, you're going to try to rectify the situation so your kid doesn't end up in prison.

She went home, it was hurting, she was hoping it would get better. Then the pain got so bad she said maybe i need to go to a doctor.

He did something that was criminal, that he shouldn't have done. and he is not above the law.
