Too many people still think that this is just a gay, white disease. They think if they are not an IV drug user, and the man they are kicking it with is not a drug user, then they are not at risk.

The Internet removes the embarrassment factor, so people can honestly talk about what they are doing and what their risks are.

We want to raise awareness. For those who find out they are positive, we want to get them into care. For those who are negative, but are involved in high-risk behavior, we want to get them into prevention programs so that they learn to keep themselves safe. Unfortunately, there are too many people out there who don't think they are at risk.

There has been a level of complacency that has helped the epidemic spread.
