"David Low Hackett" was an United States/American official.

Born in Dedham, Massachusetts, President John F. Kennedy appointed Hackett head of the President's Committee on Juvenile Delinquency and Youth Crime. Later, Hackett headed a study group for the establishment of a domestic peace corps group which later became AmeriCorps Vista. A friend of Robert F. Kennedy, Hackett helped with Robert F. Kennedy presidential campaign, 1968/Kennedy's presidential campaign in 1968. He served in the United States Army, in Europe, during World War II, and then went to McGill University. Hackett lived in Bethesda, Maryland. He was the inspiration behind the character of Phineas in A Separate Peace by John Knowles. The idea is that Las Vegas is a destination in the U.S. that people go to see something different, ... We thought this would be something that worked here.

Right now what is going on is prices are high and they are going higher.

What that says is that even though crude oil prices are at near-record highs, gasoline prices are much higher than the crude oil prices would dictate.

It's a little early to know how bad it is; I would expect it's bad. There's certainly no good news out there yet.

Gasoline will stay expensive. As long as our refineries here (in California) continue to run well, we don't expect it to get a lot more expensive, but somewhere around $3 is where it's going to hang around, unfortunately ... for the next month.
