(Day) definitely stepped up and had a great game. His leadership by example, I think it spreads.

We've got to make our players tougher, and we've got to make our players understand the value of winning. And this sure helps.

I wanted to do it in the worst way, and it just worked out. I think it's going to be special, kind of like hockey did and basketball did.

We're going to get guys thrown out, we're going to get guys picked off, but that's all part of it.

We've got to get better on a lot of things, but this is a building block. It's a process, but I don't want to say the process is going to take long because I want to win now, I want to win early and I want to win often.

It was a big, big issue of importance for us. We keep teaching our pitchers to pitch down in the strike zone to get ground balls, but to do that, you've got to have guys who can pick up the ball.

It's a special thing to take our team to other areas. We're trying to gain interest all over the state.

They kept the pressure, and they kept the fire inside and put together quality at-bats. They took that eight-run inning and just let it ride for us.
