The school had no knowledge that weapons would be drawn. We understand students' and parents' and the community's concerns about this particular search. We will work internally and with local law enforcement to be sure these issues are addressed.

If he decided to kill himself, I don't know where he was at, whether it was depression or a rational act. I suppose suicide could be rationally justified as an alternative to being held in our prisons.

I didn't see any changes in him during 10 or 12 hours of interviews in four visits while he was in jail. He was focused, unemotional and his questions were good questions.

They were basically of zero value to shed light on his state of mind when he died. There was nothing in the packet that sheds any light on any of this at all.

In a sense he's denied the opportunity to clear his name.
