"David Alan Otto", is a former professional baseball player who pitched in Major League Baseball/Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1987-1994. Dave is a 1982 graduate of Elk Grove High School (Elk Grove Village, Illinois)/Elk Grove High School. At 6'7" he is the tallest pitcher to hurl for Elk Grove's Grenadiers. He was also a basketball standout in high school.

Otto was a 2000 inductee to the University of Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. He played Designated hitter/DH as well as pitched for the Missouri Tigers/Tigers from 1983 to 1985.

Otto was originally selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the second round (52nd overall) of the 1982 Major League Baseball Draft/1982 MLB Draft, but elected to attend the University of Missouri instead. He was picked in the second round again 1985 Major League Baseball Draft/three years later, this time thirteen slots earlier at 39th overall and by the Oakland Athletics with whom he would sign.
