You have to have an environment where your opinion is OK. Green Bay is learning how to be diverse. We were a homogenous community 20, 30 years ago. We're going to stumble a little bit, but we have to be optimistic.

We want to create top-quality programs for all kids. Now, of course, as a diversity liaison, I'm going to actively recruit minority students because that's where the achievement gap lies.
