The reason for the postponement is to re-examine the issue to explore all the options.
The governor certainly takes pride in Pittsburgh's accomplishments and would be more than willing to participate in a friendly wager.
Pittsburgh will have a world-class facility to help celebrate the achievements of African-Americans, educate visitors on the contributions of African-Americans to the arts, culture, business and industry. The project will be a showcase for Southwestern Pennsylvania, and a tourist attraction.
I think the governor expressed his concern that the local officials representing so many citizens were so stridently opposed to the proposal.
All I can tell you is that we're continuing to gather information. I think Allen's attendance at the meeting reflects the governor's desire to get all the input that he can possibly get.
The governor really doesn't control that. If they choose to operate under a different financial situation, that's up to them. They know best what they need.
