Coach Nutt was gracious enough to allow Alex back into the Razorback family. Alex is very humbled by that act. He knows Arkansas is a special place and the right place for him right now.

This doesn't necessarily mean Alex is leaving Arkansas. Arkansas is still very much in the mix, but he's in the process of evaluating what's best for his future.

When I was covering them, they had nothing and the league knew it. I mean, in 1986 David Archer led the NFC in passing for the first half of the year and that was it.

It's not like you can pay him $5 or $6 million (at Iowa). It's a case of, either he wants to do it - or he doesn't want to do it.

It hurts them if they had a chance to trade him. They might have been able to use him to get a quarterback.

Unfortunately, a lot of coaches have grasped the concept of self promotion and Tom never cared about self promotion. It is a mystery with Tom Moore. But the guy has never played politics. . . . Now he's at the stage where it's an age issue.

You can tell he's worked on his craft. He is so much improved since last year. He's a dynamic guy and you can see he's getting better.

He has spent the last month exploring and evaluating what's best for his future and it's come down to these options. Alex simply wants to get better as a young man and a student and as a quarterback. That's the bottom line and he's just trying to come to the right conclusion.
