We weren't expecting to do that at all. It was unexpected, but we knew we had the kids to do it, and two of the guys were freshmen. We have five or six guys who can go in there.

It's good to have that many guys in practice pushing each other. We have intensive practices where we all just go after each other, which is a great thing.

The intensity in practice this week was just awesome. I think that was the key. We knew Carroll was one of the top teams in the division, and we knew this would be key for the playoffs all the way down the road, even though it was the first game.

We play some good games outside of the division. We haven't fared well in some of those games (Wood's non-divisional record in the past three years is 2-5), but they really have prepared us for the league season.

It's always sort of in the family and I've always been one of the faster kids in my grade.

Winning three [titles] in a row is a lot more impressive than winning two straight. In our minds, we've done nothing leading up to this, though. We've got to prove ourselves all over again.
