I've always been big on pitching depth. In grades 9-12, we've got 12 pitchers. We feel fairly confident playing three or four times a week.

In the third inning they scored five on a couple of infield hits. They only hit one ball hard. Alex (Jenson) pitched fine, but we had a bit of misfortune there.

We're young. But we were really, really young last year.

We just want to improve defensively. Last night was by far our best defensive effort so far.

We've been pretty consistent at the plate — we do a pretty good job of putting up runs. Keeping teams from scoring has been our problem.

The main thing is that our 10 freshmen are still learning the system. But our sophomores already have a year under their belts and our juniors and seniors will be leading the way a little bit.

It was a battle of home runs.

I think we took advantage pretty well of whatever they gave us. We didn't swing the bats very well the first three innings, but when we put that six-spot up in the fourth, we started to hit the ball harder.

Alex was outstanding. And we made a lot of plays behind him.
