The U.S. government has no greater capacity to trace a 'mad cow' back to its origins or answer crucial questions about its origins than it did on Dec. 23, 2003.

Food-borne illness is an issue that has been shoved to the back of the shelf for far too long.

There is no public health risk here. But I do believe there is a serious threat to the public's trust in the government.

A train wreck is coming. It's not about the science. It's how people see their food.

Nobody died, but 31 people ... got sick from eating this product, and I can tell you, not one of them thought that it was their best day on earth. This is not just a bellyache.
