It is a lot of money for a school board election. But she must have felt, due to the competition, that it was necessary.

They (board members) have the right to exercise their political expression just like any other citizen. I believe they should be able to participate equally, particularly since it is their own money and not school district funds that they are spending.

While the governor's proposed funding increase is truly appreciated, it still leaves us short of being able to fully maintain the services we provide to our students, let alone being able to expand opportunities for our students. It's discouraging to have to recommend cuts at a time when student achievement is increasing, but we must balance expenses with revenues.

We are not talking about adding anything new, this is simply trying to maintain the status quo.
