When we looked at the bills, what (the district paid) didn't agree with the contracts, and we were told that they went through a flat rate with some of those taxicabs.

Some basic accounting fiscal areas that we would expect for $1 billion operation were just not up to what we would have expected. You would expect to go to personnel files to find salary information, and it wasn't there. In some cases, there wasn't a personnel file.

It was difficult to get our hands on some supporting documentation for some of the transactions.

Maybe there were some answers, but they were not in the files.

I think the contract started out at maybe $500,000, and they had a change order to get it to $700,000, but they ended up paying like $1 million, and there was no evidence of any other change orders or any other board approval for that last change.

A lot of the girls have gone to other camps this summer, and they have been able to share what they have learned. We are trying to incorporate some of those skills into what we're doing this week, and I think that has benefited everyone.

In some of them that we did have, the amount (the district paid) did not agree with the contract.

We're just working on basic skills and trying to shake the dust off. This is a good time to get their muscles reprogrammed and their minds thinking about volleyball again.
