"Brent Edison" is an attorney and Democratic-NPL politician from North Dakota. He has unsuccessfully run for both North Dakota State Auditor/State Auditor in 2004 and for North Dakota State Tax Commissioner/State Tax Commissioner in 2006. Edison's campaign for Tax Commissioner was tarnished when it was publicized that he was fired from a state agency, Workforce Safety and Insurance, after reportedly creating a hostile work environment.[http://www.in-forum.com/News/articles/144899 In-Forum] Nonetheless, there was never a formal reason for Edison's dismissal, leading many to believe it was politically motivated.[http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/sandy_blunt_terminated_as_director_of_wsi/ Sandy Blunt Terminated As Director Of WSI - Say Anything] Indeed, Edison proved not to be the problem at WSI and unrest worsened dramatically after Edison's firing. His successor Sandy Blunt was eventually terminated and convicted of a felony for misapplication of entrusted property.[http://www.in-forum.com/News/articles/195042 In-Forum]

I'm in fighting trim. I'm full of energy and optimism and I'm ready to take on this challenge.

Property taxes have become an 800-pound gorilla on the back of North Dakota property owners and renters. Property taxes have become so out of balance that they threaten the ability of seniors to stay in their homes, and threaten the dream of home ownership for our young people and working families.

That whole name recognition thing is huge. You need to get around the state as much as you can, giving people your card and shaking hands. I've been on the ballot once before so I'm hoping that's in the back of people's memory.
