I think the future of cruising is outstanding. Today, cruising captures only 2% of the vacation market in this country. That's just 9.6 million people, while Las Vegas attracts over 37 million and Orlando is over 40 million. But cruising is capacity constrained. Our ships are full. If we wanted to be 6% of the market, we'd have to double the size of the fleet.

Vacationers today want choice.

That's our theory. We've asked the Coast Guard to verify it.

Carnival took the myth out of cruising. We took what some considered elitist and made it an everyman vacation. So why not do the same with wine? The beverage of choice for most Americans is still beer, but we want to create an awareness that wine is not just for the snooty or the snobbish.

We sincerely apologize to those guests whose vacations have been impacted by these voyage cancellations, ... This inconvenience ... will provide desperately needed housing for thousands of individuals affected by this tragedy.

We normally sell those rooms for a lot of money. It was frustrating that no one wanted to come.

There are a few things you never do ? you don't serve red wine with a soft cheese ? but I've drunk red wine with fish, and I didn't go to confession afterward.

This inconvenience to our guests will provide desperately needed housing for thousands of individuals affected by this tragedy.

Within a minute's time, the fire doors in that area of the ship totally isolated that part of the vessel. The ... air conditioning system was shut down so that the fire would not get any oxygen internally.
