I'm not a big self-promoter. I'd prefer to emphasize our club. I don't think that billboard is going to get us any wins come February.

I think it's about creating pressure. When you can get a bunt down in a good situation in the right location against a team defensively, now you've created where the team's got to make that throw. Even in college baseball as good as teams are, it's easier said than done.

Any good coach has to have the team behind them.

Every job that I have taken, my goal has not been to see where I was going, but to work as hard as I could and let the chips fall where they may. And that is what will probably happen in this case ... I am assuming if I do a good job, I will get an opportunity (to remain head coach).

It's probably the most humbling and uplifting experience you can have. First to be humbled by where he's at. Then be uplifted by how he's handled it.

The first goal, and I think we've accomplished that, is to get the (players) to believe in me. I definitely feel I have their support.

The key is to slow it down and not get in such a hurry. (The season opener) will be here quick, but the key for us coaches is to slow it down and have a process daily of what we want to get accomplished.

I personally don't think it could have went to a better candidate.

I assume if I do a good job, I'll get an opportunity. I think coach Holland would take my resume.
