We don't take terrorism seriously.

I will tell you right now our airports are not safe.

But it can also be used against commercial aircraft carrying civilians. That is the bigger threat we have found.

Are we going to say that we will prevent people from going to where the aircraft are, as they have done in Los Angeles? These are the things that will form part of our analysis and we will make a proper recommendation.

Terrorism is a return to barbarism but countries differ in the way they want to deal with this scourge. We're looking for an approach that's acceptable to all or a middle ground.

Most of our airports, when they started, have open areas on both ends of the runway. But now, they're full of residents. People who go there are not authorized to be there, but they are there.

We in the Third World should double our efforts and sharpen our awareness and skills to fight terrorism.
