There is no way that these men are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ... Cardinal George should release their names. And then he should be going to every church and school where these men have worked and actively prod anyone with information to turn it over to law enforcement and to police.

A charge doesn't guarantee a conviction, so it's crucial that other witnesses and victims come forward. When victims stay silent, nothing changes. But when victims speak up, at least there's a chance for healing, justice and prevention.

That the settlements could go that high shows us the seriousness of the harm and the cover-up.

I don't know what in God's name Cardinal George was thinking when he allowed this perpetrator to remain in ministry. It goes against everything that Cardinal George has been speaking about.

What they call monitoring leaves a lot to be desired. There is no way to monitor these guys 24 hours a day.

I would hope that Catholics who are committed to peace and justice would demand that the University do something.

The least (church officials) can do ... is inform neighbors of where they are residing now.

This belated, begrudging action might be some relief to victims, but it does not relieve the cardinal of his responsibilities. He has shielded these men for too long.

These men are going to be shielded for decades to come in the church. They shouldn't even be allowed to remain in the priesthood.
