We have scraped together the $9,500 to keep the doors open until March 31. We need a miracle to save our domestic violence program, and in turn, save women and children.

I'm thrilled that we made history tonight.

If they refuse, in my opinion, Chairman Barnett should remove them. The employees and taxpayers have suffered enough.

It was their idea. They did it out of the goodness of their hearts.

I believe those board members who voted for Mr. Romeo lost an excellent chance to restore some credibility to this board. They had a chance to put new blood at the head of the board. Tonight we saw that (Williamson County Commissioners) Wendell Fisher and Bob Barnett have assured that the good old boys will continue to rule the housing authority.

This was an important case. Mr. Fisher was a prominent businessman in Jackson County and the word on the street had been that he would never serve time. Well, he made a big mistake by crossing the line — the Williamson County line. This should send a message that we will aggressively prosecute those who would harm our children.
