One of the two suspicions is that there was an indirect lightning strike which may have caused the zebra to go into the moat and drown. The other is she had a preexisting medical condition causing problems with her throat and lungs, causing breathing problems, and she may have gone into the moat and drowned as a result.

We think the overriding cause of her death was something other than drowning.
