This engine type had a run of crankshaft failures that was quite abnormal a couple of years ago, but other than that the failure modes we have registered in our database are just standard you would expect from any other engine.

At this stage we have no clues as to what may have contributed to this failure. We will be taking the engine away for disassembly.
