"Alan Westover" is a former basketball player in the Australian National Basketball League (Australia)/National Basketball League (NBL). He was also coach for the Melbourne Tigers.

Westover is the current coach of the Shiga Lakestars of the Basketball Japan (BJ) League in Otsu City, Shiga. In his first year with the Lakestars, Westover helped the club reach their highest amount of wins in their seven-year history, and to the second round of the play-offs where they lost to eventual champions, Okinawa.

It was a titanic struggle, no doubt about it. We knew it was going to be tough and it's going to be tough again on Tuesday. Down the stretch our will to win and the crowd was the difference.

But you could see from that first day of training that the guys really got along with each other and they like each other and they've always supported each other no matter what.

They (the Kings) are the benchmark for the league, that's something we respect and admire and hope we can duplicate.

We're aiming for a championship, but if you want to be the champions, you've got to win the championship. Nobody is going to give it to you. We've got the team to go for it.

All in all, I think they were just a bit more desperate than we were.
