I have often thought that if photography were difficult in the true sense of the term -- meaning that the creation of a simple photograph would entail as much time and effort as the production of a good watercolor or etching -- there would be a vast improvement in total output. The sheer ease with which we can produce a superficial image often leads to creative disaster.
We are very excited about this opportunity. The response from schools, community groups, and local artists has been extensive. Based on the interest we have received, outstanding student and community art will be displayed - including photographs; oil, watercolor and multimedia paintings; quilts; poetry and music - all with the theme of forests.
In addition to his works in watercolor and other mediums, Art has also been responsible for the design of stained-glass windows and tapestries for installation in various synagogues. His role will be to select which entry is named Best of Show and choose works that will receive various other awards.Ed Laudano
