Parents have to be showing some interest in the schooling. With my teenage son, I have to be on him. I'm not accepting anything less. My mother did it with me. It didn't hurt me. . . . It helped me.

But no earlier than us. . . . That would conflict with our state law. And that would not happen.
They can't tell us that we have to have (our primary election) at some time that's different from what our state law says.
This is too important to just sort of slam through.
They kept pushing me and pushing me, and I finally decided ok if I can serve the community who thought a lot of me then I think it was my duty.
I would have to consider taking some action on setting the date.
