Cooper had everything to prove today. Cooper played well today -- and they could've rolled over -- but they didn't.

We talked about coming into the game wanting to be all business and we came out and took care of business. Those first couple of innings was probably the best we've played offensively all year.

Dees was doing a good job of throwing that rise ball and we were swinging at it like we'd never seen one before. We started to stay back on it and be patient.

The thing we can take from this is that we didn't play our best and still won. We know we can't play this way over the next four games.

(Witte) hit her spots and let her defense play behind for her a little bit and that's what she needed to do. You can't expect her to come out and strike out 14 every game, you have to play defense. And we played defense today.

This was a big win for us to remain one game in front (in the district). It's probably good that we're having games like this because it helps us out. Games which you win by run rule are probably easier but they really don't help you prepare for the playoffs.

Coming off our first loss (in district), I'm anxious to see how the girls react to that. Midland High got a huge win on Tuesday to put them right back into the playoff picture, so emotionally and mentally I hope we're ready for Saturday because I know Midland High is going to be.

She can pitch, she can catch, she can play third, outfield, anywhere we need somebody she can fill that role.

It was a great boost in the arm for us. There were some people who had some bumps and bruises for us.
