It was pretty clear to me that if you wanted to be heard you needed to be on the school board so the three of us decided to run.

I feel pretty good about what happened yesterday. People are fed up. They don?t want taxes to go up, but cutting teachers is like shooting yourself in the head and then bleeding to death. If they don?t do something soon, the board is going to see the privatization of schools undermining the system. Giving them input is one thing, but if they don?t use it - what?s the sense?

We need to do something here. That?s why we gave it a shot. It?s a pretty one-sided board. There is never any dissent or any creative ideas thrown onto the table. We wanted to give them some alternatives they can use, but they are not prepared to deal with what is going on.
