It's down to those three clubs, and that's really who he's choosing between. The Patriots could surprise us with a phone call, but we're assuming they're not interested.

Bruce has been telling me he wants to get his right tackle done, but I don't know where this is going to go now with Tom. He'd like to be there in Tampa, but the way it is now we have to continue to explore other options.

From Tom's perspective, there's no ill will whatsoever toward the Patriots. In fact, he's very appreciative of their ability to develop him over the last five years. He would have never seen a day like this if it weren't for their willingness to work with him. He's got nothing but good memories.

He came to the program as a 90-pound freshman and grew to be 6-1 senior season. During his sophomore year he developed a pull-back jumper after driving into the lane and no one seemed to be able to stop it. He worked so hard in practice that sometimes we had to stop it because we actually thought someone was going to get hurt.

This year, there's no question that across the league, most teams have been active and that's rare. Under the old system, the cap wasn't bumping up like this. You've never seen a quantum leap like this in the cap.

It's a challenge to find a contract that meets both what Tom's looking for and what clubs need for their salary-cap situations, I think they want the player. I don't think they'd regret it.

There's plenty of talk, but not a deal. It'll probably be into Monday before we have something (with one of a number of teams.) The Dolphins have not been very aggressive, so I'm not sure they're a player.

That's to make the transition as easy as possible. We're gearing our park toward progression.

They're biding their time right now, which is fine with us. They're keeping their options open and so will we. But it was a comfortable situation for Jamie.
