"Thomas Fitzgerald Dolan" is an American former competition swimming (sport)/swimmer, two-time Olympic champion, and former world record-holder.

Dolan grew up swimming for Rick Curl and the Curl-Burke Swim Club, along with the Washington Golf & Country Club during the summer. He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he swam for coach Jon Urbanchek's Michigan Wolverines swimming and diving team in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition from 1994 to 1997. During his college swimming career, he won individual NCAA national championships in the 500-yard freestyle (1995, 1996, 1997), 1,650-yard freestyle (1995, 1996), and 400-yard individual medley (1995, 1996), and was a member of three of Michigan's winning teams in the 800-yard freestyle relay (1994, 1995, 1996).

Dolan represented the United States at two consecutive Summer Olympics. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, he won a gold medal in the Swimming at the 1996 Summer Olympics - Men's 400 metre individual medley/men's 400-meter individual medley, finishing with a time 4:14.90. He also competed in the Swimming at the 1996 Summer Olympics - Men's 200 metre individual medley/men's 200-meter individual medley, placing seventh in the event final with a time 2:03.89.

Kids stay home because they don't want to face it. We have students who basically shut themselves in their homes on weekends to avoid this. That's how prevalent it is.

I had to come back from my bad outing and try to keep it close. Once you get a lot of runs on the board, it's hard to return from that. I just tried to keep things short and keep us in the game as best as I could.

Some pitchers are going out there doing the best that they can. Basically I think that it's just mental. Some balls are hard to catch. But it's just the way that the ball is rolling this year.
