The end of 2003, we took a second in Huntington Beach (Calif.) and we were pretty consistent after that. We were in the top five, won twice this year; we've always been in the mix, and we've rarely done poorly.

In that first half, they gave us their best shot and we were right there. With the exception of a couple rimmed-out shots on our part, we were a point or two away. We played our guts out.

We came out and pressured in the fourth quarter pretty well, but it's not the kind of pressure we can sustain for four quarters. I think we finally decided in the fourth quarter that the ball did fit in the basket. It took us a long time to figure that out.

I can't explain it. I guess we match up well against them.

We had a little bit of fatigue and they're just physically strong. The second half, their second-chance points killed us. We were working after it, trying to get it, just weren't getting the ball. They were more powerful than we could handle.

We got lost on some cuts and they put in some easy buckets and pretty much buried us.

They came out a little flat and we were ready to play. By the time they re-adjusted, it was out of reach.

If we get that (rebound), we could call timeout and have seven seconds to set something up and get down full court. (Paige) got a good look. It was from about 25 (feet) and she didn't have a chance to get set, but if you tell me were down 19 at the start of the fourth and we have a shot on the way to win, I'll deal with that. I can handle that.

It was a good group of kids. I wouldn't trade them for anyone else.
