(Dennis) has a very large eye, and the highest winds are well removed from the center. So, even if the center stays offshore, there's a good chance (that areas under a hurricane warning are) going to experience hurricane conditions.

We believe it's going to turn to the northwest and then the north. That would minimize the threat to the east coast of Florida and increase the threat to the Carolinas' coast.

The waters ahead are very warm. People from Florida to the Carolinas should really pay attention to this.

We are expecting a gradual turn towards the west/northwest sometime Sunday, but it could still continue to move north.

If the ridge takes too long, it could allow [the hurricane] time to move in. If it moves more timely, then it could turn [the hurricane] to the northwest, possibly even the north.

We're not letting anyone off the hook anywhere along the coast.
