We are still looking for someone to step up as the No. 2 pitcher. You're not going to win many high school games giving up the number of hits that we did today. Everything in this game hinges on pitching, and we didn't have it.

Records are made to be broke and I think Jason can do it. With all due respect to Jamie, I think if Jason has a big day he should be able to get it done.

It was a miracle they didn't score 14.

He killed us. (I) got (Smith) picked off. I didn't think (Sealy) would get to the ball. They made the tough plays and we didn't make the basic plays.

I'm real pleased with where we're at. Things should go a lot smoother.

That catch cost us two runs. That's a heck of a play.

This win puts us back in the conference race. We played well enough to beat LaPorte and fell short. We're not sneaking up on anyone anymore.

Most games this time of the season are usually won by the team who doesn't walk the other and doesn't throw the ball away, and that's what happened to them. It's tough when you're young, with the short time to get prepared. We've got an experienced group of kids, which helps a lot. We put the ball in play, got on base, threw strikes and played defense.

We always tell kids that the more pitches you see, the more you'll get to hit. Clint did a great job staying in the at-bat and driving in the run. The more pitches you see, the advantage swings to the hitter.
