It was especially hard on my oldest (Thomas III). I don't think for a while there was hardly an article written on him which didn't mention my name. It finally got to the point in his senior year at Plano where it was all about him.

Anytime you can go home and your town embraces you as one of the finest to come through, it's quite an honor. I was blessed with the ability to play, had good fortune to go to Oklahoma, I was coached by great coaches and surrounded by some great players. No one accomplishes the things I have without the people around them.

I liked to think there was not anyone who could run it better. I liked to think the wishbone offense was my baby until I had three of my own.
