"Steven James "Steve" Sidwell" is an English professional association football/footballer who plays as a midfielder for Stoke City F.C./Stoke City.

Sidwell began his career at Arsenal F.C./Arsenal and after winning two FA Youth Cups he had constructive loan spells at Brentford F.C./Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion F.C./Brighton & Hove Albion which saw him join Reading F.C./Reading in January 2003. Sidwell spent four-and-a-half-years with the Royals helping them to gain promotion to the Premier League in 2005–06 Reading F.C. season/2005–06. He joined Chelsea F.C./Chelsea on a free transfer for the 2007–08 Chelsea F.C. season/2007–08 season, however opportunities were limited at Stamford Bridge (stadium)/Stamford Bridge and he moved on to Aston Villa F.C./Aston Villa in July 2008 for a fee of £5 million. In his two-and-a-half-year stay at Villa Park he played 64 times scoring four goals. Sidwell spent three-and-a-half-years at Craven Cottage making 115 appearances scoring 17 goals. His time at Fulham ended after the club was relegated from the Premier League in 2013–14 Fulham F.C. season/2013–14 and he joined Stoke City F.C./Stoke City in June 2014 on a free transfer.
