FameRank: 4

"Stanley "Stan" Lazaridis" is an Australian former Football (soccer)/footballer.

Wikipedia's Manual of Style says that "Ethnicity or sexuality should not generally be emphasized in the opening unless it is relevant to the subject's notability." Lazaridis is notable for being a footballer, not for which bit of Europe his family came from. If his ethnicity is important enough to go in the article, it should go in the body of the article, or in a personal life section, not in the lead, and any claims made should be backed up by reliable sources. Without reliable sources, any mention of Greek and/or Macedonian will be removed from there as well.

--> He was predominantly a left winger though he had been known to perform at left-back. He last played for his home-town club Perth Glory FC/Perth Glory and made 58 official appearances for Australia national football team/Australia and was in the Australian 2006 FIFA World Cup squad.

With so little time between now and November I don't know whether we have the luxury of letting players go early.

It's a tough call. It's not like we can afford to let five defenders go because we don't have replacements. I think Guus will want all of us together as long as possible. He'll be keen to work on certain things and I'd be surprised if he makes too many concessions.

If they want to call me, they know where I am.
