What is different about this case and very sad is that a mother was candidly talking to detectives about allowing her 16-year-old to pick up drugs from her supplier.

Apparently, this particular drug can be put into a drink basically unbeknownst to the victim. The effects were that she basically became very disoriented and wasn't sure what the ... specifics of the evening particularly were.

We were pleased when it turned out the child was unharmed. Probably what happened is the person wanted to take the car, saw the child inside and thought better of it.

We just have some information that perhaps she had some mental problems. She had been acting somewhat strangely. Some of her behavior was somewhat bizarre.

We're really wide open in terms of looking at some things.

As far as we're concerned, anytime you have situations where people are practicing or targeting police officers in any sense, it certainly is a concern because we battle that on the street on a daily basis.

We're still very much in the beginning stages trying to determine if there is enough evidence, or basically, what the story is.

The preliminary motive appears to be some type of argument, maybe over some prescriptions. We are still interviewing some people and still trying to fit the pieces of the puzzle together.

One of the effects of this drug is that your memory is not always there. So she did remember periods of being assaulted and after she got back to her apartment or back to her home later that day she went to get tested at the hospital and the presence of this drug was found in her system.
