Obviously, the county has become increasingly diverse at the same time it has become increasingly affluent. We have become attractive to everyone, regardless of their race or ethnicity.
There appears to have been a concerted effort to open the property up to development in order to create a crisis and cause the expenditure of millions of dollars in public money. You can't get away from the basic fact that this property had five years left of preservation.
Hopefully, when the next Presidents Cup is held here, we will have those amenities in place so that money stays in Prince William.
They've coupled a homespun, humorous campaign with high-tech resources. You've got to give them credit. They know what they don't want, and they are willing to take the time and effort to organize and oppose it.
