The worst thing I could have done was panic and start screaming. Luckily, I got a pole right away. It was a bit long, but it was manageable.

We knew we had a chance. But we didn't get up in the morning with a do-or-die, win-or-die mindset about the race.

We just need something in the morning to get us moving.

You walk a fine line when you put someone on a list and they're innocent. I think the media is really misinformed and looking for a doping scandal, and it isn't a doping scandal. Unfortunately, there are people who are passed as dopers who aren't doping. The have to have a better test. It's not good enough, and it's not fair for people who work really hard and have naturally high levels.

All of a sudden, I was kind of flapping one arm. The next thing I knew, there were three racers in front of me.

We're definitely competitors. But once the races are over we're best friends. When we're teaming together I expect the best out of her and she expects the best out of me.

This is just great timing for me with the Olympics less than a week away. Plus I also have to keep up with the rookie.

It's not the best thing to happen but at the same time you can't give up.

Thomas will retire this year so it's a decision both of us will make together.
