It didn't take Summerville and Alston long to fit right in with their new teammates. When you bring in junior-college players, you have to get the chemistry quickly. We're not at 100 percent yet, but we're getting there. This is a very close knit bunch.

We had a lot of adversity this year. We met a lot of challenges this year, but we didn't meet this final one. We're very proud of the fact we've won 40 games in two years. We just skipped a lot of steps. We went from Step 1 to Step 10. Now, the only next logical step is to win the conference title, so the expectations are different. Everything was in place, and then the injuries came along.

I think she's a female Allen Iverson. She'll have nights when she can't miss, and then she'll have off nights. But you have to go with her. She's as tough as nails, and you want the ball in her hands at the end of a game.

Not being able to hit our shots at the beginning really did hurt us. We were never really able to get our press going.

You look at our lineup, a lot of kids are new to this. We need to understand that you have to play for 40 minutes. We talked about it in practice. We talked about it at halftime. We talk about it all the time.
