There isn't a shortage of people willing to work. There is a shortage of people willing to work for $6 an hour.

Why are we having to spend money on people who are here illegally?

I believe in the second-chance players as long as they don't have too much baggage. I always talk to the ones who are going to the bigger schools. Then, if they want to come back and be a big fish in a small pond, they might call us and we'll talk to them again.

People are seeing immigration as a negative. That's a shame, because if it's done right, it's a positive. Americans believe in reasonable legal immigration, but they have major heartburn with people breaking the law.

I can't afford to recruit foreign kids. They don't qualify for federal aid money.

I don't want a country where 10 people living in a mobile home is the new way to do things. We don't need to shut down immigration. We just need to bring it into balance where it becomes a positive instead of a negative.

We are also in transition talent-wise. We need tougher kids to play at this level.
