Obviously, this is a mistake because it is inconsistent with the governor's bill to eliminate the car tax.
I don't think it's fair to characterize this as a gimmick. This is paid for. This is not a gimmick.

I hope the car tax is still on the table, but it would take substantial changes to the budget. The car tax proposal works because it controls spending. You can't do tax cuts if you don't control spending.

It is designed to be fair to municipalities, both large and small, and I believe it will do that. Candidly, the thinking was not to provide a bonus to towns. The thinking was to provide a bonus to taxpayers.
It's absolutely doable. This should happen.
