It's very easy for (critics) to say those things because it's not their reputation and their career that's on the line. I'm sure none of them would want to be sitting in his shoes.

It's our job to be sure that people go to the polls to vote for the marriage amendment and the Republican candidates for governor. Not only are they out there in force voting for this amendment, but because Gov. Doyle is vulnerable, you get a two-for-one shot.

This changes our game plan, obviously, but it opens a huge opportunity. Either Scott Walker or Mark Green would have come out of the primary broke and a little beat up. Now you don't go into the general bruised, and you have money.

All this stuff will surface again in October, but it will surface on both sides. Just because the Democrats haven't gone to trial doesn't mean it's not in court documents.

Unless you present a viable alternative, then I don't care what's going on in Madison, you're going to have a problem. If they put all their eggs in this one basket, they're going to come up woefully short.
