As a poet I am not primarily concerned with intellect. I'm not that smart. I want to make people laugh and cry.

Kayak polo's a good excuse to put on a skirt and play a sport, ... When you play in a white-water kayak, which is a closed cockpit boat, you wear a short, black waterproof skirt you stretch over the kayak's top edges to keep water from coming inside.

All four of these artists have the kind of draw that would be appropriate for an arena.

Our language is polarized. Concrete words are usually the language of poets. Abstract words are usually the language of politicians.

It's a great way to learn and hone kayaking and watercraft skills, and it all takes place in a safe environment.
